Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem?We have a tendency to look for a reason something happens. In Christian circles today, the common blame is spiritual warfare. "If something bad is happening, it must be because Satan is attacking you."
However, Jesus shows this lie for what it is. Just because something bad happens, it doesn't mean that we're being attacked, or did something wrong. Sometimes, and in my opinion most of the time, thing happen as a consequence of living in a fallen and flawed universe, and that is the only "spiritual" action that precipitated that bad event.
