It seemed fitting for me as well, having investigated everything carefully from the beginning, to write it out for you in consecutive order, most excellent Theophilus;This tells us much about the author. First, he was a scholar. He cares about having the correct facts, and was willing to do the hard work in that time to learn from the eyewitnesses what really happened.
Second, he cared about others. He didn't do all this to satisfy his own curiosity, which I probably would have. He investigated to know, but wanted others to know as well, and benefit from his work. He wasn't in this for himself.
