In their streets they have girded themselves with sackcloth;When God's judgment comes upon this people, it will be swift and decisive. There will be no buildup, no preparation. It will come quickly, when least expected, and it will be devastating.
On their housetops and in their squares
Everyone is wailing, dissolved in tears.
However, not all will be destroyed in it. Some will be spared, and they will mourn for their kin who were not. God will leave a remnant, to testify to what happened and unknowingly confirm His power.
