If one of the unbelievers invites you and you want to go, eat anything that is set before you without asking questions for conscience' sake.I value that Paul includes the possibility of you not wanting to go. This could be for many reasons, and he doesn't restrict it. Personally, there have been many occasions where I was invited, but felt like I'd be the "odd man out" and therefore passed. Sadly, I probably didn't express myself well in many of those cases, because I rarely got another invitation.
Also, I like how Paul says not to ask probing questions. Those kind of questions can easily be seen as adversarial, or even antagonistic. We're not to go into a situation looking for a fight; instead, we're supposed to try and be at peace with everyone.
