He will not fear evil tidings;When I read this, my first thought was the recent hit song "Happy." Its second verse talks about how bad news won't bother him, because he's so happy. This is the kind of attitude that we are supposed to have, though maybe not for the same reason.
His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
We're not to be disturbed by bad news, because we trust in God. That trust is so deep, the very foundation that we build our lives on, that nothing can affect it. We have no reason to fear anything, because God has control.
