You shall not go outside the doorway of the tent of meeting for seven days, until the day that the period of your ordination is fulfilled; for he will ordain you through seven days.This verse leads me to a couple of basic questions. First, why is the ordination period seven days? I realize the significance of a week, but why does it take a week?
The second question might answer the first, if I knew the answer to it: what happens during this week of ordination? The text makes it sound like they're supposed to just sit around doing basically nothing for that week. Do they spend it in prayer? In worship? In some kind of service? What's happening during that time?
